The meeting of the Southern California Region of Fire Safe Councils held on November 2nd in Laguna Beach was a great success.  There were about 50 representatives from over a dozen Fire Safe Councils who came from all over Southern California to attend the meeting.  There were excellent discussions both in the breakout sessions and the group meeting at the end.  Many good ideas about how to move individual councils along and what we as a group were looking for from the Statewide Fire Safe Council.

Following the morning meeting, there was a tour of Laguna Beach highlighting the areas that burned nine years ago, the rebuilding and improvements in infrastructure, and, of course, a look at the famous Laguna Beach goats that were working away on a Saturday keeping the hillsides neatly trimmed.  The tour included a nice lunch at the Top of the World park offering a windy vista of the area.
