• David advised that our Federal & State Taxes have been turned in as well
as two final reports on our Grants and that we are current.
• David Mitchell presented a demonstration on wireless/live closed TV
coverage for fire detection over great distances affecting Laguna Beach
utilizing solar powered send-receive IT cameras. Distance capability
depends upon size of zoom lens. These fire watch units have vast
possibilities for siting potential fires, flooding and other emergencies,
and can be monitored by Fire, Water Dept personnel and FSC Coordinators.
Cost for a camera with power is about $3000. There is no charge for
transmission service.
• Our “Chipping Program” was very successful and has ended with the City
with all funds expended. .
• Grant Applications 2004/2005 are made and due to be received.
• Upcoming Fire Season—Red Flag Fire Alert. David has sufficient quantity
of kits, flags, maps for Red Flag volunteers
• Other Business. Wade Stearns indicated he could possibly drive an FSC
Float entry in the Patriots’ Day Parade but feels it may be too late for
this year.
• Next meeting at 4:00 PM March 31, 2005, location to be advised.
• Respectfully submitted, Ken Crumley, Board Member
